“Il corso gratuito organizzato da Wuerth Elektronik Italia, Rohde & Schwarz e Batter Fly si propone di fornire ai partecipanti i principi generali per la comprensione degli aspetti di progettazione di apparati e sistemi con riferimento alla compatibilità elettromagnetica.

Durante questo seminario verranno trattate una serie di interessanti tematiche che coinvolgono tutti coloro che lavorano nell’ambito della progettazione, validazione e produzione di apparati elettronici. Contestualmente ci sarà la possibilità di vedere e “toccare con mano” gli strumenti ed approfondire ulteriori applicazioni di proprio interesse con i nostri esperti.

Il corso sarà tenuto dal Prof. Arturo Mediano docente dell’Università di Zaragoza, che, dal 1992, annovera innumerevoli corsi sulle problematiche EMI/EMC e Power & Signal integrity in Europa e negli Stati Uniti.”

Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) is one of the critical topics regarding the design of ready-to-certify hardware products, compromising cost, speed and reliability.
One of the main sources for EMC problems come from the improper design of switching power converters due to their switching nature, the generation of high current loops and the use of magnetic components.
This seminar will approach the key aspects to understand, avoid, and solve issues of EMC. Different cases will be shown during this seminar, based on real-life examples to identify the key sources of conducted and radiated emissions.
This seminar will provide a clear set of guidelines and practical examples to optimize your design and meet the ongoing, demanding EMC standards.

Switching power supplies can generate a wide range of electromagnetic noise, that can be: conducted throw the wire, caused by the propagation of radio interference voltage on the main side, and radiated, the long supply cable can became an antenna for this unwanted signal.
Al this noise can interfere with other equipment around it.
This talk concern the generation of both conducted and radiated noise of an AC/DC converter and the possible solution to reduce and optimize the EMC/EMI performances.

Meet the Speakers


Arturo Mediano received his M.Sc. (1990) and his Ph. D. (1997) in Electrical Engineering from University of Zaragoza (Spain), where he has held a teaching professorship in EMI/EMC/RF/SI from 1992. He is the founder of The HF-Magic Lab®, a specialized laboratory for design, diagnostic, troubleshooting, and training in the EMI/EMC/SI and RF fields at I3A (University of Zaragoza).


Giuseppe Ballarin is a Senior Field Application Engineer of Wurth Elektronik since 2016, with a strong background in IC and Silicon technology. Main focus is the support to the design of magnetic based circuitry, EMC compatibility and Overvoltage protection. Other services are the support during EMC test and the delivery of seminars focused on electronic design and electromagnetic interferences.


Angelo Strati is a Field Application engineer of Wurth Elektronik since 2017, working with industrial and automotive customers on EMC solutions. Specialty focus on design filter for power supply, motor Drive and low power electronic board, including support of customer by EMC lab for EMC test/ optimization and improving of their application from the EMC point of view.
