KEYSIGHT N5171B, N5172B, and N5173B are signal generators designed to deliver reliable signals and industrial-grade performance in RF and microwave applications. These instruments are the ideal choice for production testing, development, and verification of components, modules, and radio systems, thanks to an excellent balance of performance, speed, and cost. Available in analog (N5171B, N5173B) and vector (N5172B) versions, they cover a wide frequency range up to 40 GHz, ensuring spectral purity, high output power, and broad modulation flexibility.

  • Frequency coverage: from 9 kHz up to 40 GHz (depending on model and options)
  • Output power up to +21 dBm (option 1EA) and electronic attenuation up to 130 dB
  • Ultra-fast frequency switching: down to 600 μs (microwave)
  • Spectral purity: phase noise down to –101 dBc/Hz (10 GHz, 10 kHz offset, N5173B) and harmonics ≤ –55 dBc
  • Analog modulations (AM, FM, PM, Pulse) and integrated multifunction generator (option 303)
  • Internal and external I/Q vector modulation up to 200 MHz (N5172B only)
  • Integrated pulse generator, pulse trains up to 2047 patterns (option 320)
  • Programming interfaces: GPIB, LAN, USB; SCPI compatibility and legacy instrument languages
  • Advanced security features: removable memory (option 006), diagnostics, and self-test
