Discover the new Siglent SNA5000X-E Vector Network Analyzer. A compact and cost-effective solution for fundamental RF measurements up to 6.5 GHz, featuring a 12.1" touch display and advanced functionalities.

SIGLENT SNA5000X-E Vector Network Analyzer

The SIGLENT SNA5000X-E series of Vector Network Analyzers have a frequency range of 9 kHz to 6.5 GHz, which support 2 port scattering parameter, differential parameter, and time domain parameter measurements. The SNA5000X E series of VNAs are effective instrumentation for determining the Q factor, bandwidth, and insertion loss of a filter. They feature impedance conversion, movement of measurement plane, fixture simulation, and adapter removal/insertion adjustments. The VNAs have five sweep types: Linear Frequency mode, Log Frequency mode, Power Sweep mode, CW Time mode, and Segment Sweep mode. The SNA5000X E series VNAs also support scattering parameter correction of SOLT, SOLR, TRL, Response, and Enhanced Response for increased flexibility in R&D and manufacturing applications. Its compact (only 12.6 cm deep) and lightweight (<5.4 kg) chassis breaks the tradition of bulky VNAs, saving valuable space on the workbench or in production lines, without sacrificing a large 12.1-inch high-resolution touch screen display.

Key Features

  • Frequency Range: From 9 kHz to 3 GHz (SNA5003X-E Model) or 6.5 GHz (SNA5006X-E Model).
  • IFBW Resolution: From 1 Hz to 10 MHz to optimize speed and precision based on the test.
  • Level resolution: 0.05 dB.
  • Dynamic Range: 125 dB typical, ideal for characterizing high-rejection filters.
  • Low Trace Noise: 0.002 dB rms at 1 kHz bandwidth.
  • Receiver Noise Floor: Extremely low, down to -127 dBm/Hz at 1 GHz.
  • Intuitive User Interface: 12.1-inch touch display (1280x800 px) with support for external mouse/keyboard and virtual shortcuts to operate without physical panel keys.
  • Software and Hardware Options: Support for high-performance Reference Source (OCXO), Spectrum Analysis (SA), Time Domain Analysis (TDA/TDR), and Automatic Fixture Removal (AFR).
  • Interface: LAN, USB Device, USB Host (USB GPIB)

Design Features and Advanced Analysis

The integrated interface of the SNA5000X-E series transforms the instrument into a comprehensive analysis hub, designed to meet the most stringent design and testing requirements. The software supports advanced display management with up to 256 simultaneous channels and windows, where each window can host up to 64 traces. This capability allows for observing the Device Under Test (DUT) from multiple angles through the simultaneous visualization of different data formats.

To maximize operational efficiency, the most relevant functions include:

  • Segment Sweep: Optimizes the speed-to-precision ratio by defining different parameters (scan points and IFBW) for each frequency segment.
  • Limit Test: Automates quality control by providing an immediate PASS/FAIL verdict based on limit lines, ripple, or bandwidth.
  • Port Extension & De-embedding: Shifts the reference plane to mathematically eliminate errors introduced by cables, adapters, and fixtures.
  • TDR & Eye Diagram: Identifies impedance discontinuities along transmission lines and simulates digital signal quality through eye diagrams.
  • Spectrum Analysis: Performs advanced spectral measurements such as ACPR, channel power, and spurious searches without changing connections.
